Tips for gathering evidence to demonstrate your skills

The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

TLIJ3006 - Implement grain protection procedures

What evidence can you provide to prove your understanding of each of the following citeria?

Identify required pest control measures

  1. Stored grain is checked for live and/or dead pests in accordance with workplace procedures
  2. Pest infestation information, including prevalence, type and location, is gathered from observation
  3. Actual and potential damage to stored grain is assessed and documented
  4. Pests causing or likely to cause damage are identified
  5. Hazards are identified, risks are assessed and control measures are implemented
  6. Appropriate form of protection and/or pest control is determined in accordance with workplace procedures
  7. Pest control measures are arranged and/or implemented in accordance with workplace requirements
